Why your brand, copy, and website should be built together

For years, Liberty Type sold branding, copywriting, and web design as separate services. Clients could hire us for one, two, or all three. Then I noticed a pattern in which projects worked best for our health and wellness clients. When we built the brand, copy, and website together, the practice launched with a presence that matched its reputation. When we built one piece alone, the result was good but the gap stayed open.

So we stopped selling them separately. Today every project is the Complete Brand. This post explains why, and what working with us actually looks like.

What goes wrong when the pieces are built apart

Most established practices have been through some version of this. You hire a designer for a new logo. A year later, a web designer builds a site around it, and asks you for the copy. You write it at night after your last patient, or hire a freelance writer who has never met your team.

Each of those people may do excellent work. But nobody owns how it fits together. Your designer chose a look without knowing what you want to be known for. Meanwhile, the web designer built pages around placeholder text, and the writer described the practice from a questionnaire. You end up as the project manager, the strategist, and the person who makes three vendors agree.

The result looks newer and still says the same things. Your logo suggests a premium, specialized practice, while the copy reads like every other clinic in town. And the website makes it hard to find the service you most want to sell. When the brand, copy, and website each come from a different person, that mismatch is almost guaranteed.

Why the brand, copy, and website have to agree

A new client doesn’t experience your practice in pieces. She sees the logo, reads a headline, scrolls through bios, and decides whether to book. If those parts contradict each other, she can’t name the problem, but she feels it.

Looks carry a lot of weight in that moment. In a study of 2,684 people by Stanford and Consumer WebWatch, a site’s design look was mentioned most often when people judged whether it was credible, showing up in 46.1% of their comments. Design alone can’t carry trust, though. If the copy undercuts what the visuals promise, the impression falls apart a few lines down the page.

When strategy, identity, copy, and site come from one plan, each piece makes the others more believable. Your visuals look as established as your reputation. Then the copy explains what the visuals suggest, and the website gives people an easy path to book.

How we build your brand, copy, and website as one project

The Complete Brand is $16,000 and takes about nine weeks. One team carries a single strategy through every piece, so nothing gets lost in translation.

It starts with a strategy interview

Every project begins with a 90-minute strategy interview that I lead myself. It’s where your brand, copy, and website start sharing one set of decisions. Before Liberty Type, I spent six years as an investigative journalist, and that training still shapes how I run these conversations. Owners rarely lead with the most interesting part of their story. My job is to find the details you skip, like the case consults your team holds every week or the reason you stopped taking insurance, and decide which ones belong up front.

That interview becomes the brand strategy and creative direction for everything that follows.

Then the identity, messaging, and copy

From the strategy, we build your complete visual identity and logo system, along with typography, color, and supporting elements. At the same time, we develop your brand messaging and positioning, so the words and visuals grow from the same decisions.

Then we write conversion-focused copy for five pages, informed by SEO. Because the copy is written by the same team that built the strategy, it sounds like your practice rather than a template.

Then the website brings the brand and copy together

We design a custom Showit website for those five pages, on desktop and mobile. We handle the technical SEO setup and testing, and we support you through launch. Afterward you get your brand files and training on the website, so your team can update bios, services, and locations without calling a developer.

A brand, copy, and website built for real practices

Modern Therapy is an online therapy practice serving New Jersey. Their original brand came from opening day, and the practice had grown well past it. We rebuilt the brand and website with room for more therapists, services, and courses, and carried it into brochures, lead magnets, course materials, and employee manuals. The owners told us they were “already seeing a positive financial impact.”

Little Longhorns Chiropractic needed something different: a family and pediatric clinic in a new market, Bastrop, Texas. The brand had to feel fun for kids and credible for parents, and it showed up in signage, environmental design, and merchandise people asked to buy. The clinic launched with people already booking.

Different specialties, different problems, and the same principle. When the brand, copy, and website come from one strategy, the practice reads clearly everywhere.

Is building everything together right for you?

The Complete Brand fits best when your practice is established, your care is strong, and your public presence describes a smaller or older version of you. Usually that means a practice doing $500K or more a year that grew on referrals.

It may not fit if you only need a single page updated, or if your brand was built recently and still fits well. In that case, a smaller fix makes more sense, and I’ll tell you so. But if your brand, copy, and website were all created back when the practice was new, they’ve likely aged together. That usually means they’re best rebuilt together, too.
