I'm Amanda Burg. Before I founded Liberty Type, I spent six years as an investigative journalist, asking questions until the important part of the story came into focus.
Business owners give me those moments all the time. A decision they consider routine reveals years of judgment. An offhand story explains why clients stay. A service they describe like everyone else's turns out to work very differently.

Why I built the studio this way

I built this studio to help you change that, with someone taking responsibility for the decisions and the finished work.
I built Liberty Type while raising a family and growing a team. There were naptime work sessions, parked-car calls, and versions of the business I outgrew before I found time to update them.

Who is Liberty Type?
Liberty Type is a brand strategy, branding, website copywriting, and website design studio founded by Amanda Burg in 2016. We work with service-based businesses that need people outside the business to understand what their best clients already do.
What makes Liberty Type different from a freelance designer or a DIY platform?
A freelance designer typically builds from the direction you provide. A DIY platform gives you the tools and leaves you to determine the strategy yourself. Liberty Type begins with a 90-minute strategy interview led by Amanda. The branding, website copy, and website design all come from that foundation, so they are built together instead of stitched together across separate hires.
What stage of business does Liberty Type work with?
